Having looked at the Groovy spec a little bit more, I concur. What&#039;s odd is that the final language syntax is _worse_ than the beta&#039;s. *shrug*

Nevertheless, Sun should have released Groovy (or something like it) concurrently with the core Java language back in 1995. Not every project requires layers upon layers of (often redundant) architecture...</description>

		<description>Groovy seems pretty cool, it has some snazzy modules that make building Web Services or data access layers super easy, it&#039;s fun to play with but I haven&#039;t used it for anything serious.
