Convergence 2007 has created a real buzz around Navision and Microsoft is working really hard to get the word out about Nav 6.0, so much so that Microsoft Dynamics NAV Team has even started a Blog. I’ve noticed a ton of new Navision blogs now and I just l just learned that there’s a new book: Programming Microsoft® Dynamics™ NAV.

The biggest news is for Nav. is the three tiered architecture which will make developing applications for Navision much easier. While Nav 6.0 will maintain the old development environment (blech!) developers will be able expose their code units and forms as web services, which is great because most of my development effort has been spent on replicating logic (in C#) that would have otherwise fired in the OnInsert/Update/Delete triggers; just as importantly ISVs won’t need to rewrite their existing modules which should make the transition from Nav 5.0 to 6.0 very smooth.

Now I need to find something to keep myself busy for the next year.
